A message from Mayor Bill Rahn
Dear Fellow Citizens, The weather is getting warmer every day and we’re looking forward to a great spring and summer ahead. There are many exciting things happening in the Village of Westmont right now. I would like to share some of them with you. CELEBRATE DOWNTOWN WESTMONT SPECIAL EVENT MAY 16-18 Mark your calendars. On May 16-18, the Westmont Chamber and the Downtown Westmont Business Alliance will be hosting its first annual Celebrate Downtown Westmont event. The 3-day event offers a variety of entertainment and attractions that will encourage the community to come and visit our downtown business district. The event will include a plant and flower sale, a car show, live music, an artists in action event, and more. Look for details to be published soon on the Westmont Special Events website at www.westmontspecialevents.com. POLICE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE ON MAY 17 Each year, our Westmont Police Department holds an open house to the public. The event offers residents a chance to see the various services and divisions of our Police Department up close and in person. Early in the day, the Police Department holds an auction to sell confiscated or unclaimed items that have been collected by the Department during the past year. Later, the Police Department will celebrate the graduation of its current Citizens Police Academy class. Look for more details to be published in the news section of our Village Website. RED, WHITE AND BAR-B-Q ON MAY 24 & 25 The second annual Red, White and BarBQ event will be held at Ty Warner Park over Memorial Day weekend. Last year’s inaugural event was a great kick-off, and this year plans to be even better. Hosted by the Westmont Lions and the JCs, this event is a great chance for people in the community to come out and enjoy a nationally-sanctioned bar-b-q contest along with live music, children’s events and more. For more info, check their website at www.westmontbbq.com. AS ALWAYS… We encourage our residents and businesses to get involved with our community. Your participation helps to make Westmont a better community for everyone. Please do not hesitate to contact me regarding any questions you may have. My email is wrahn@westmont.il.gov and my new phone number is 630-981-6201. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Bill Rahn Mayor of Westmont
